Job Title: Part-Time Junior High Paraprofessional
Location: St. Rose of Lima Catholic School – Franklin, Indiana
Start Date: 8/6/2025
Hours: Part-Time (Approximately 29.5 hours/week; between 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM, flexible based on schedule needs)
Position Summary
St. Rose of Lima Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, dependable, and student-focused part-time paraprofessional to assist our junior high teachers and support student learning in a nurturing Catholic environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with middle school students and wants to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support junior high students with academic tasks in small-group and classroom settings
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction, supervision, and organization
- Foster a respectful and collaborative learning environment
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch/recess, or other designated times
- Work under the direct supervision of certified teaching staff
Qualifications & Requirements (per Indiana State Guidelines)
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for paraprofessionals in Indiana, which include:
High school diploma or GED AND one of the following:
- At least 48 hours of college coursework
- An associate degree (or higher)
- A passing score of 460 or higher on the Para Pro Assessment (a state-approved exam)
If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications, we’re happy to support you in starting the process (including guidance on how to register for the Para Pro exam).
Additional requirements:
- Previous experience working with children (school, church, daycare, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education
- Must complete a background check and Safe Environment Training upon hire
