An opening for an enthusiastic, energetic, and creative Children’s Services Librarian is available for an individual with demonstrated ability to interact with youth as well as adults. Responsibilities will include providing reference assistance, readers’ advisory, and the development and presentation of children’s programming. Qualifications include an ALA accredited MLS degree, experience presenting programs for ages 0-12 with a knowledge of ECRR and STEAM education initiatives, and the ability to use technology to provide services to all ages.
The ideal candidate will be an advocate for the library, with strong skills in creating and maintaining community partnerships, presenting to parents, teachers, and partners on library services, and outreach programming for elementary schools, daycares, and social service facilities.
Starting salary of $21.00 per hour and an outstanding employee benefit package, including paid vacation, sick, personal leave and holidays will be provided to the selected candidate. For additional information, please visit JCPL's website.
