The Role
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Selection ProcessApproximately 30‑day process:
1) Application review and pre‑employment assessment,
2) Criteria assessment (5 days),
3) Video interview (7 days),
4) Hiring team review and next steps notification within 5 business days.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more.
- Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility.
- Track and store department inventory.
- Move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
4 days on, 3 days off. Common pattern is Sunday to Wednesday. 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM with a half‑hour break.
Back Half Day Shift4 days on, 3 days off. Typically Wednesday to Saturday. 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM with a half‑hour break.
Front Half Night Shift4 days on, 3 days off. Sunday to Wednesday. 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM with a half‑hour break.
Back Half Night Shift4 days on, 3 days off. Wednesday to Saturday. 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM with a half‑hour break.
Basic Qualifications- High school or equivalent diploma.
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.
- 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards.
- 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE).
- Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- Able to troubleshoot basic input and output function of building operations.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME.
- Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards.
- 2+ years of experience working with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls systems.
- 2+ years knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
