Maintenance Technician – Superior Essex

Location: Franklin, IN (or Indianapolis, IN – please confirm with employer)

Shift: 12‑hour staggered shift, 8:00 pm – 8:00 am. Overtime and day shift work possible per plant needs.

General

Purpose:

Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance on plant equipment and building systems to keep production running efficiently.

• Wear appropriate safety equipment and follow established safety practices.
• Repair all mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment in the facility with minimal supervision, including fabricating components from ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.
• Diagnose system issues and quickly locate faults, using proper troubleshooting techniques.
• Prioritize work with plant leadership to align with production needs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, building service requests, and regular facility tours.
• Generate detailed reports on equipment failures and update plant data records.
• Recommend procedural and equipment changes that improve reliability.
• Operate maintenance tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders for fabrication and repair.
• Complete required production forms and maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Work any shift, including overtime.
• Lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Read calipers and micrometers.
• Read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment.
• Read and interpret oscilloscope and meter readings.
• Work at heights and operate powered industrial material handling equipment.
• Complete paperwork and maintain accurate records.

• High School Diploma required.
• Prefer 3 to 5 years experience as an electrician, electronics technician, industrial maintenance, or computer repair technician.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in an applied science or similar is a plus.
