Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve quality performance (scrap, PPM, cost of poor quality).
• Lead weekly quality meetings with plant leadership.
• Act as primary contact for customers and suppliers on quality issues.
• Manage corrective actions: containment, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation.
• Support Quality Management System activities:
  • APQP / PPAP documentation and submissions.
  • Engineering change updates.
  • Maintain controlled documents (control plans, PFMEA, process flows, work instructions).
• Oversee calibration, MSA studies, and non-conforming material disposition.
• Track and report quality metrics weekly/monthly.
• Supervise sorting area and allocate resources.
• Assist with part setup on vision systems or CMM.

Gauge R&R, Gauge Calibration, APQP, PPAP, IATF, GD&T, lean manufacturing

• BS in Engineering or Technical field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in Quality Assurance (Automotive industry experience required).
• Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools: PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA.
• Problem-solving skills and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing.
• Understanding of metalworking processes.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects.
• Strong communication and technical skills.

Intermediate Level

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, KY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $44.00/hr.
