Applications Engineer

This role acts as a hands‑on technical liaison connecting customer needs with internal engineering, quality, and production teams. The focus is on evaluating customer use cases, shaping technical approaches, and guiding products from early concept through scalable manufacturing. The Applications Engineer helps ensure high‑precision medical components meet functional, regulatory, and production requirements.

Working cross‑functionally with customers, sales, manufacturing, and quality, this position turns real‑world application challenges into practical, repeatable solutions that can be successfully produced at scale.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as the main technical resource for customer‑facing application discussions
  • Engage directly with customers to define functional needs, performance targets, and design limitations
  • Convert application inputs into clear technical requirements and production‑ready solutions
  • Contribute to early‑stage product development and support launch activities for new programs
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to balance performance, cost, and scalability
  • Provide technical input during quoting, feasibility assessments, and design refinement cycles
  • Support manufacturing improvements through troubleshooting, process refinement, and optimization efforts
  • Assist with testing, validation, and documentation aligned with medical device requirements
  • Participate in technical meetings, reviews, and customer site visits when necessary
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Background in regulated manufacturing environments such as medical devices or precision components
  • Working knowledge of machining and fabrication methods, including CNC and grinding operations
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, tolerances, and technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers
  • Analytical mindset with a practical, solution‑oriented approach
  • Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485/FDA exposure preferred)
  • Experience with CAD tools is beneficial but not required
