Monday to Friday – 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
POSITION SUMMARY
Set up and operate CNC machines, such as lathes, mills, and Swiss style machines. Demonstrate basic blueprint reading and inspect required tolerances. Create, edit, and maintain CNC programs under engineering direction.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC lathes, mills and related equipment.
- 5 – 10+ years of CNC programming and machining.
- Experience working with exotic metals (nitinol, stainless steels, nickel alloys).
- Proficiency in machining medical device components and GMP requirements.
- Ability to conduct high‑level problem‑solving related to machine setup and tooling alignment.
- Must read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints.
- Must modify and edit CNC programs under engineering direction.
- Must create basic CNC programs, layouts, and set‑up sheets for other machinists.
- Ability to inspect parts against print and record data.
- Medium to advanced computer skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must perform Basic TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be punctual, abide by attendance guidelines, and maintain assigned work hours.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- It is not expected that this role will require driving.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly.
- Capability to make decisions regarding machining processes to satisfy manufacturing and development schedules and quality requirements.
- Must investigate, troubleshoot, test, and inspect product failures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- All employees are expected to be knowledgeable about and follow the Company’s Equal Employment and Aff… (EEO) policies.
- Responsible for machining prototype parts, tool making, design, and producing small assemblies.
- Measure parts and make adjustments to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Maintain machinery and tooling, track and record machine shop inventories, and perform basic TPM activities.
- Write and edit CNC programs, including the creation of set‑up sheets.
- Participate in Lean process improvement activities; lead Lean manufacturing project teams as needed.
- Train and mentor Machinists at Levels I and II.
- Perform high‑level problem‑solving related to machine and tooling setup.
- Recognize machining or manufacturing problems to produce defect‑free parts while meeting production rates.

- Report actual and potential environmental and safety violations to supervisory management.
- Adhere to ISO 14001 environmental policies.
- Report any medication or circumstances that could interfere with safe duty performance.

- Know and adhere to FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for QSR and FDA.

- Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, engineers, managers, and support staff.

- Keep neat and legible handwriting and organized notes and sketches.
