CNC Lathe Setup Machinist — Okuma​/Fanuc Turning

About the Role Picture your day: you review a detailed blueprint with GD&T callouts, plan your setup, and bring an Okuma CNC lathe online using Fanuc or Okuma controls. You dial in your work holding, qualify tools, and validate first-article dimensions using hand metrology, an optical comparator, and a CMM. You read G and M code, make simple program edits when needed, and keep production moving with confident setups and changeovers—all while working under limited supervision and following work instructions or guides for complex jobs.

What You’ll Bring CNC Machinist Level 2 or 3 experience.

Hands-on background with Okuma machines using Fanuc and Okuma controls.

Proven ability to set up and operate standard CNC lathes.

Fluency reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.Comfort with metrology—from hand tools to CMM and optical comparator.

Ability to read and understand G and M code and perform simple program edits.

Capable of setting up complex jobs using work instructions or guides and thriving with limited supervision.
