Description

Acorn Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian for a temporary, part‑time maternity leave coverage position at our well‑established and thriving 10‑doctor practice.

Duration &

Schedule:

  • Position need is anticipated to begin at the end of March 2026 to September 2026
    , approximately 6 months.
  • Preferred schedule coverage needed is Wednesday afternoons (3 pm – 7 pm), Friday afternoons (3 pm – 7 pm) and every other Saturday morning (7:30 am – 1 pm). Hours are anticipated to total about 15–20 hours per week
    .

Located in Franklin, MA, our suburban community is 40 miles southwest of Boston and offers all the charm of a historical New England town with easy access to the Boston and Providence metro areas and an abundance of local parks and outdoor recreation.

  • Medical and surgical excellence: Seeing a variety of cases including acute and chronic disease patients, as well as routine and advanced surgical procedures—spay/neuter, mass removals, foreign bodies, dental extractions, etc.

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an AVMA accredited university, or equivalent.
  • Active veterinarian license to practice in the state of MA, or license‑eligible.
  • Experienced in companion animal wellness and preventive care medicine.
  • A commitment to the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Position Type
  • This is a fixed contract opportunity for a temporary, part‑time position needed for approximately 6 months. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, availability, and contract terms.
