This hands‑on, field‑based role is ideal for a service professional with strong technical skills, customer focus, and the ability to manage a wide variety of heating and cooling systems across residential settings.

HVAC Service Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of systems, including furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and high‑efficiency equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, creative problem‑solving, and a professional, customer‑focused approach while representing one of Massachusetts’ leading mechanical service organizations. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve manufacturing defects on newly installed residential HVAC systems, including heat pumps, boilers, steam boilers, and standard equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance visits and help develop a proactive maintenance program.
  • Commission new installations to ensure optimal system performance and provide feedback to improve processes.
  • Collaborate with partner company’s in‑house technicians to service equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, clearly communicating findings and recommendations to clients and team.
  • Travel statewide to residential clients, with the flexibility to start and end your day from home using a company‑provided vehicle equipped with GPS.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, documenting work completed, parts used, and follow‑up recommendations.
  • Professionally engage with customers regarding projects, pricing, equipment, and optional upgrades.
  • Adhere to safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, local codes, and company policies.
What You Bring
  • 3–5 years of HVAC service experience across multiple system types.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
  • EPA certification required; additional state licensing a plus.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and clean driving record (company vehicle provided).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a schedule, and travel statewide.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
