Machine Operator - Filler 3rd Shift

Garelick Farms and Dairy Farmers of America are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to work the 3rd Shift (10:30 pm – 7:00 am) on Wednesdays and Saturdays OFF. This role offers excellent benefits, competitive pay, and strong growth opportunities.

General Purpose

Operate filler equipment for various product families while adhering to regulatory and company standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean, set‑up, operate, and monitor production line equipment.
  • Complete required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
  • Monitor weights, seals, caps, and overall packaging integrity.
  • Adjust filler timing and perform checks on the mat as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operation difficulties.
  • Collect and submit samples required for quality assurance testing.
  • Ensure appropriate packaging materials are used for each product.
  • Watch for jams on the label operator and thread wrap to prevent downtime.
  • Perform filler and line changeovers safely and efficiently.
  • Complete the cleaning checklist after a line run is finished.
  • Prepare equipment for the next run, including any size changes.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors, other departments, and coworkers regarding any issues that may affect production efficiency.
  • Document all required information in accordance with SOPs.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Report any food safety or quality issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with all state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Follow DFA GMP and all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
  • Certification and/or license may be required during employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Team orientation.
  • Legible record‑keeping, including writing and reading in English.
  • Computer proficiency with company systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
    Including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
