Summary of JobThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team. The LPN also identifies the need for medical attention and alerts the Physician and/or RN of medical concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Guest Care & Advocacy:
- Provides education regarding diabetic care, psychiatric medication and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
- Coordinates care including assisting individuals with making medical and/or other provider appointments as needed.
- Compliance &
Risk Management: - Assists with intake process.
- Collects blood or urine specimens and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
- Monitors care of individuals to include monitoring of medications under the supervision of the RN.
- Oversees and maintains medication records in accordance with policy and State Regulations.
- Completes clinical documentation as required.
- Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Provides support to Medical Assistants and other staff as needed, which includes treatment and discharge planning.
- Additional Duties:
- Performs other related duties assigned.

- Education / Licenses
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
- Current and valid LPN license.
- Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
- Thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications prescribed.
- Ability to work with agitated guests in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
