Membership and Service Associate - Atrium Family YMCA
Great Miami Valley YMCA is hiring a Membership and Service Associate to support our community services.
Position SummaryThis position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Associate delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants; responds to member and guest needs; promotes memberships and programs; and maintains the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
Essential Functions- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conducts “Cause Driven” interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; makes every effort to close membership sale.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA. Knows and uses the names of members, greets them first, checks on their progress, and introduces members to other members and staff.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- Knows and follows the established financial and business procedures for the association and branch.
- Assists and/or administers financial assistance, ensuring that no one is turned away from YMCA membership or participation based solely on their ability to pay.
- Supports the Branch’s Annual Support Campaign through words and actions.

Pursues self‑development, is open to change, assesses strengths and limitations, and uses best practices and up‑to‑date technology skills.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
- Completes all “Cause Driven” required training within the first 30 days.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
- Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Must be age 18 or older.
- Requires using a computer for extended periods; communicate via computer and phone/smart device.
- Regular sitting and reaching; move around environment; occasionally lift or move up to 10 lbs.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust.
- Noisy environment moderate; wear professional attire per dress code.
