The Accounts Payable Clerk, under limited supervision, will prepare and maintain records for accounts payable. This is a Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am to approximately 5:00 pm position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Process accounts payable invoices for payment, including verification of costs and price extensions, discounts, account codes, etc.
- Research unpaid invoices, credit memos, back ordered items, etc.
- Process and remit accounts payable checks, including replacement checks.
- Communicate with vendors pertaining to accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Maintain files.
- Assist with preparation of 1099s.
- Provide backup for the preparation of accounts payable reports.
- Assist with audit preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- 2 years Accounts Payable and/or general accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, computer systems, calculator, programs and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of state and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements as they pertain to the accounts payable processes.
