At Lange Accounting, you'll have the opportunity to become a key tax and accounting leader in a growing boutique firm in downtown Franklin, Tennessee.?

You'll work closely with founder Susan Lange, develop a team, serve as a trusted client contact, and help build the systems and processes that support the firm's next stage of growth.

This isn't simply a Tax Manager job with a few accounting responsibilities added. Both sides of the role matter equally.

You’ll take ownership of two essential areas of client service.?

On the tax side, you'll independently review complex S corporation, partnership, and business-owner individual returns, solve technical problems, coach preparers, and help ensure accurate, timely delivery.?

On the accounting side, you'll review clients' monthly Quick Books Online books, lead month-end reviews, evaluate financial statements, resolve accounting issues, and communicate directly with clients about their financial results.

You’ll serve as a regular client contact and lead a Client Service Manager (CSM) who reports directly to you. The CSM handles the recurring monthly bookkeeping tasks, tax preparation, and client onboarding, while you own review, analysis, and the substantive financial conversations with clients?.You'll also coach and develop your team, improve workflow processes, and help create a structure that allows the firm to grow without relying on its founder for every technical decision.

Over time, successful performance can lead to a CFO-level advisory role. There may also be an opportunity to explore a longer-term leadership succession path, depending on sustained performance, mutual interest, and future business circumstances. Neither advancement nor leadership team is guaranteed.

• Lead Tax Quality and Review. Independently review complex business and individual returns, resolve challenging issues, help the team meet deadlines, and become a dependable technical resource.

• Own Monthly Accounting Quality. Review client books in Quick Books Online, lead month-end accounting reviews, identify and correct problems, and ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and useful.

• Build Trusted Client Relationships. Become a regular contact for business owners. Explain monthly financial results, answer accounting and tax questions, identify opportunities for improvement, and help clients make informed decisions.

• Develop a Stronger Team. Review work, coach accountants, establish clear expectations, and help others become more capable and independent.

• Help Shape the Firm's Future. Improve workflow, strengthen accountability, and help build a scalable operating model that supports continued growth and high-quality client service.

• A genuine combination of tax leadership and controller-level work. You'll use your expertise across tax compliance, monthly accounting review, financial reporting, and client advisory—not confined to one narrow specialty.
