Clinical Resource Hub Cardiologist
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers a role to provide inter-professional Cardiology services at underserved VISN facilities. The position combines virtual and in-person care modalities, including Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT).

SummaryCRH Cardiologist serves Veterans Integrated System Network sites under general supervision of VISN 9 Specialty Care Service or VISN 9 CRH Director. The role requires a primary focus on Cardiology consultative care through telehealth and in-person visits.
QualificationsApplicants must meet basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the announcement. Pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected, but full hiring occurs only after all requirements are met.
Basic Requirements- United States Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible.
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved VA school.
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
- Residency training approved by VA, leading to board certification eligibility. Approved residencies include ACGME accredited programs, AOA accredited programs, or other approvals with at least five years of verified U.S. practice.
- PRPs must be fully licensed physicians and may be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not independent practitioners and will not be privileged.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Preferred:
Board certification or board eligibility (BC/BE) in Cardiology or equivalent; at least three years’ experience post fellowship; previous experience with Veteran care. - Cardiologists are appropriately credentialed, privileged, and participate in Clinical Resource Hub committees, education programs, quality improvement, and peer review.
- Provide Cardiology consultative and continuity care at underserved VISN facilities through virtual and in-person modalities.
- Conduct evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease in inpatient and outpatient settings, including telehealth services.
- Interpret EKGs, Holter monitors, stress tests, tilt tests, non-invasive ICD stimulation, pacer and ICD evaluation and programming, as appropriate for telehealth.
- Recognize and refer patients appropriate for referral or consultation.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
- Provide health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and counseling.
- Document every encounter in the electronic medical record with assessment and plan for ongoing care.
- Collaborate with team members, serve as a mentor for residents, fellows, and mid-level providers, and participate in staff and committee meetings.
