AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer to join our experienced and technically strong transportation engineering team in Franklin, TN. Engage across a broad spectrum of traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), encompassing planning, geometric and signal design, and data-driven safety analysis to support the development of advanced mobility solutions. The leadership of this team brings a clear direction for the department and is deeply invested in the development of each team member.

Engineers are supported through hands‑on mentorship, exposure to complex projects, and a path for career growth within a collaborative and forward‑moving environment. This position offers a hybrid work week option.

As a Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, data‑driven mobility solutions while building trusted relationships with clients and contributing to a team committed to technical excellence and professional growth. • Plan and manage traffic engineering tasks as projects/assignments require
• Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub‑consultants in the various assignments
• Lead project engineering tasks for traffic studies, traffic design, and traffic operations assignments
• Work with multiple engineering disciplines on larger projects that require traffic engineering services
• Assist leadership in working with/mentoring staff
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Travel within Tennessee as required to serve the clients and projects – Periodic travel to clients in other states may also be required

Minimum:

• BS Civil Engineer with 6 years of related experience and traffic simulation softwares or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• Professional Engineer License
• 8 years of traffic engineering and ITS experience or related field
• Experience with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOT’s projects
• Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD or Micro Station, and various traffic simulation software applications such as:
  Synchro, VISSIM, Trans Modeler, and HCS or similar applications

• Relocation is an option for this position
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
