STV is seeking a
** Transportation Engineer
** to join our team in either
** Franklin or Chattanooga, TN**. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist staff and our other offices who have a direct impact on the improvement of our national infrastructure. The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to be part of a team, displays confidence, and possesses a vast understanding of roadway design principles.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the TDOT and local County/City agencies.
* Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets.
* Designing to adhere to ADA Standards.
* Coordinating design development and providing technical direction and mentorship to the design team.
* Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages.
* Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
* Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers.
* Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
Required Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license encouraged.
* TDOT and municipal client experience is a plus.
* Minimum of 5+ years of transportation design experience.
* Proficient with Micro Station and Inroads/Open Roads modeling design software.
* Open Roads Designer experience is a plus.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
