House Attendant –
Southall - Farm and Inn
The House Attendant ensures the resort’s public areas, guest rooms, and facilities remain clean, organized, and well‑maintained. The role involves cleaning, linen handling, guest service, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities- Clean public areas of the resort, including guest corridors, elevator landings, and stairwells.
- Transport dirty linen from guest rooms to the laundry chute.
- Stock linen rooms and storage areas with clean linen and in‑room amenities.
- Pick up and deliver guest request items.
- Assist Room Attendants in moving heavy objects in rooms.
- Distribute firewood to cottages and fire pits around the property.
- Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Empty trash containers and recycling bins in public areas.
- Inspect furniture for damage and report issues to maintenance.
- Update cleaning status on the assignment sheet and restock cleaning carts at the end of the shift.
- Return keys securely and handle lost and found procedures with the supervisor.
- Address guest complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
- Apply knowledge of hotel fire and emergency procedures.
- Adhere to the Lost and Found policy and key control procedures.
- Complete all required training.
- Perform additional room cleaning duties as operations change.
- Make up cribs and rollaway beds as needed.
- Stock cleaning supply closets.
- 1–2 years of prior experience in cleaning hotel guest rooms (preferred).
- Strong verbal communication skills in English with guests, coworkers, and managers.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, speed, courtesy, and the ability to work independently.
- Physical ability to clean 14–16 standard rooms per shift.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Interpersonal skills to work well with co‑workers and the public.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and written communication.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods.
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
