Job Description
The Data Center Supervisor is a 24x7x365, market-based position responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to Flexential customers and resources as well as leadership to the TAC employee base. Candidates must have a solidified understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC Troubleshooting and Management Applications, and demonstrated intermediate leadership skills. The Supervisor must represent Flexential professionally and technically during interactions with customers and internal resources in a calm and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Support (35% of Duties):
Provide support to the Flexential customer base, resolve and/or escalate customer issues promptly, maintain professionalism, troubleshoot and document technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system, follow support processes and procedures, execute routine maintenance (customer reports, system updates, backup services), perform infrastructure inventory audit and verification, review physical device alerts across data centers, triage and escalation of incidents, assist with customer joint technical review preparation, and participate or present joint technical reviews. - Provision Flexential Services (25%):
Coordinate and/or complete physical and logical installations of Flexential services and update all relevant documentation. - Leadership Responsibilities (15%):
Manage workflow tasks to ensure timely customer turnaround, respond professionally to customer requests and issues, execute technical tasks for transitioning customers from sales to support, provide feedback and coaching to TAAs, manage TAC interns, maintain TAC work schedules, assign resources within TAC, oversee special projects, take ownership of technical issues and communications, possess at least two core strengths within Flexential services, develop training plans for TAC personnel, conduct knowledge transfer and training exercises, and perform additional duties as assigned. - Assist in Facility Operations (5%):
Follow data center policies and procedures, participate in facility training programs, collaborate with the Market Facility Operations Engineer on daily management, manage inventory levels of consumables and supplies, maintain proficiency with all Flexential services, and perform additional required duties. - Recruiting (15%):
Participate in market recruiting activities, screen resumes for intern and full-time candidates, conduct initial phone screens, lead onsite interviews, manage candidate disposition, and perform other duties as required.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience
- Passion for providing a great customer experience
- Experience in a 24/7 production environment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, keeping commitments and meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with ITIL Incident Response methodology
- Self‑starter and motivated
- Fundamental certifications (A+, Net+ or Sec+)
- Knowledge of networking – routing, subnets, communication protocols
- A.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, related field, or equivalent experience
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Walk or stand 80% of the time
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
- Lift 25 lbs.
Hourly salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $31.00 - $32.00
. Actual pay depends on experience, location and qualifications.
Discretionary annual bonus based on personal and company performance.
