Shift
Schedule:
12‑hour shifts rotating Sunday, Wednesday – Thursday, Monday – Tuesday, Friday – Saturday; 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. 36 hours the first week, 48 hours the second week (bi‑weekly schedule). We offer onsite training and a learning path in the printing industry with unlimited growth potential.
- Follow guidance and direction from the Press Operator.
- Read job orders and load dies into the press, install the print cylinder on the shaft, and install it in the press.
- Fill ink pans, screens, and pumps with prescribed inks.
- Insert the shaft through the core and secure the roll on the press in the feed position.
- Splice the end of the roll to the remaining stock on the press, adjusting tension and feed as directed.
- Start the press, adjusting the speed and alignment of the stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
- Engage print cylinders, adjust the printing impression as needed, place cylinders lead‑to‑lead, and run down the approval strip.
- Cut a sample from the approval strip, inspect for imperfections (print‑to‑print or print‑to‑die register, missing impression, ink starvation, color adjustments), and make adjustments as necessary.
- Clean plates, print cylinders, and dies as required.
- Remove trash as needed.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance; all maintenance must be approved by the supervisor.
- Mix inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
- Keep work areas clear and organized, maintaining housekeeping standards.
- High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing, printing, or packaging environment; experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Arithmetic skills in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.
- Regularly required to stand and frequently walk.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
