Position: Licensed Practical Nurse – Pediatrics (Mobile, AL)

Overview

Franklin Primary Health Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our pediatric care team in Mobile, AL. In this full-time role, you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality nursing support for children in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in care team huddles and pre-visit planning
  • Deliver professional, courteous service to patients and families
  • Monitor patient flow and manage walk-ins based on urgency
  • Take and record vital signs and patient history
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and safe clinical environments
  • Document symptoms, complaints, medications, and allergies
  • Administer medications and perform tasks per standing orders
  • Record treatments, labs, messages, and referrals accurately
  • Assist physicians with exams, injections, EKGs, x-rays, and procedures
  • Respond to medical emergencies and maintain crash cart readiness
  • Manage and restock supplies, narcotics box, O2 tanks, and IV cart
  • Support patient education and self-management
  • Participate in quality improvement and PCMH initiatives
  • Perform venipuncture and basic lab work as needed
  • Fulfill other assigned duties as needed
Pediatrics-Specific Duties
  • Administer immunizations, PKUs, Medicaid screenings, vision/hearing tests, TB skin tests, and urine and strep tests
OB/GYN Support
  • Assist with colposcopy, cryosurgery, Norplant insertion, OB intake, family planning, TB tests, and lab work
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain current Alabama LPN license and CPR certification
  • Stay updated on infection control and clinical best practices
  • Follow all clinic policies and procedures
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Diploma from accredited nursing program
  • Current LPN license in Alabama
  • CPR certification required
  • One year of clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Valid driver’s license
Work Schedule & Pay

Full-time | Monday–Friday | Day shift | $19.00–$23.00 per hour
