Job Description Summary
Directs level two trauma center operations, in close partnership with Medical Staff and clinical departments & staff to enhance quality patient care and outcome. This position is centrally involved in clinical performance improvement activities related to level two trauma center and assists in the coordination of regional outreach efforts. Responsible for collaborating with DMH departments that care for trauma patients to ensure IDPH trauma standards are met.
Responsible for planning and coordinating staff education, patient education as well as patient support activities. Maintains positive relationships with physicians and surgeons. Performs educational needs assessments and develops, implements, and evaluates educational programming to meet the learning needs of the level two trauma center patients and/or employees to enhance the overall patient experience. Responsible for quality improvement initiatives within the multidisciplinary arena.
Under the directing physician or designee, provides coordination of their respective departments or work areas.

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) license required
- Trauma Nurse Specialist Instructor certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire date
- CPR, ACLS certifications are required
- Minimum of five years of clinical Emergency Department/Trauma/Critical Care experience required
- Experience planning and conducting education programs in corporate, educational, healthcare, public and/or EMS setting(s) preferred
- Minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Working knowledge of the IDPH trauma registry
- Experience in statistical gathering and data analysis
$43.71 - $67.76. Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
