Summary

ST Tissue is seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright to support our 24/7 papermill operation. This role ensures all mill process equipment, maintenance machinery, and plant rolling stock remain in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition. Candidates must have strong industrial experience‑preferably in a papermill, chemical plant, steel mill, or similar heavy manufacturing environment. The work is hands‑on, mechanically complex, and critical to plant uptime.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, and alignment of industrial equipment used in a high‑speed papermill environment.
  • Work as part of a multi‑craft maintenance team and provide guidance to other maintenance personnel when needed.
  • Follow all mill safety regulations and proper PPE requirements, including fall protection, respirators, chemical suits, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and predict failures using experience, quantitative data, and condition‑monitoring techniques.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, mechanical drawings, and service manuals to determine proper repair and installation procedures.
  • Operate rigging equipment, forklifts, and dollies to safely move and position heavy industrial components.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, mount motors, connect couplings and belts, and maintain precise tolerances.
  • Perform equipment testing, calibration, and adjustment after installation or repair.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
  • Service and rebuild:
  • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
  • Hydraulic cylinders and oscillating cylinders
  • Gearboxes, agitators, conveyors, and rotating equipment
  • Perform welding and fabrication when needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation, including parts usage, work orders, and inventory requests.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, purchasing, vendors, and leadership to maintain safe, reliable operations.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and environmentally compliant after each job.
Education, Skills, & Experience Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
    , working with large pumps, gearboxes, piping, hydraulics, and rotating machinery.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and work from P&IDs, blueprints, and detailed mechanical drawings.
  • Multi‑craft experience (millwright, pipe fitting, basic electrical).
    Welding experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, leadership, and outside vendors.
  • Must be willing to participate in the on‑call rotation
    to support the needs of a 24/7 operation.

While performing the duties of this position, employees must be able to:

  • Climb ladders; ascend/descend stairs or ramps while carrying tools
  • Bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push/pull, reach above/below shoulders
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
Frequently
  • Stand, walk, sit, speak, hear, and work closely with others
  • Use computer, keyboard, and basic office equipment
  • Lift up to 30 lbs

Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
