Position: Supplier Quality Engineer I

Supplier Quality Engineer I

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Mon‑Fri) On‑Site (Franklin, WI Facility)
Compensation

The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $67,200 – $86,814. Individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Audits &

    Qualifications:

    Assist with on‑site audits and evaluations of suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring:
    Analyze supplier performance and suggest improvement plans to address non‑conformities.
  • Defect Investigation:
    Collaborate with suppliers to investigate and resolve defects, supporting corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Process Validation Support:
    Participate in supplier process validation activities such as PPAP and gauge R&R to ensure product consistency.
  • Quality Support &

    Collaboration:

    Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality‑related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem‑solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventive measures.
  • Metrics & Feedback Utilization:
    Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, sharing insights with leaders, partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Industry Trends & Innovation:
    Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, making improvement recommendations to leadership based on new insights.
  • Compliance:
    Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.

Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in quality engineering focusing on supplier quality within the electrical or related industry.
  • Basic knowledge of supplier quality systems, including APQP, PPAP and Six Sigma tools.
  • Some experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis.
  • Adequate understanding of supplier qualification processes and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced working environment.
  • Rounded attention to detail with an analytical mindset and excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non‑technical roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI or a related tool.
Preferred
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ.
Environmental and Hazardous Conditions
  • Occasionally working indoors/outdoors in an air‑conditioned/non‑air‑conditioned office/manufacturing/site‑based environment.
