Position DescriptionWe are seeking a driven and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in our new air handling unit production facility in our Data Center vertical. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Administration (or related field/experience) who is eager to lead, lean, and grow within operations. You’ll gain firsthand experience in production management, continuous improvement, and team leadership while playing a key role in launching and optimizing our plant operations.
As part of an 80/20-driven organization, this role will focus on simplifying complexity, prioritizing high-impact activities, and supporting rapid plant ramp-ups.
Travel requirements
:
Travel up to 25% for the first 3 months and will then decrease to 5-10%. After the Franklin plant is occupied, intermittent travel will be required to meet with customers, suppliers, other facilities, and Regional and Corporate meetings.
Production Management & Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of production employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability through training and daily engagement.
- Manage daily production schedules to meet output targets, deadlines, and internal customer requirements.
- Collaborate with site leadership to drive plant performance and ensure alignment with startup goals.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and coordinate workloads for optimal efficiency.
- Handle administrative tasks including time/attendance, disciplinary actions, labor reporting, and workforce planning.
Drive Operational Excellence
:
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, TPM, and material flow.
- Participate in Tier meetings and execute leader standard work to drive daily accountability.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Maintain training matrices and labor plans to support workload balancing and labor optimization.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure Quality & Safety:
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with environmental and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for air handling unit production.
- Collaborate with quality teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and enhance product reliability.
Monitor Production Metrics:
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), driving actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive daily accountability through the Tier meeting process to ensure that all levels of information flow in the factory are accurate and driving continuous learning and improvement.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support new product introductions and changes, ensuring proper training and implementation on the floor.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and staff, providing regular updates on production status and challenges.
Leadership Development:
- Participate in mentorship and training programs to develop leadership capabilities.
- Learn from site leadership how to lead teams and ensure process adherence.
- Receive supervisor training through corporate resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in manufacturing leadership.
