QPS is actively seeking a skilled CNC Programmer for a well-established manufacturing client in Franklin, WI. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on professional who enjoys owning the programming process, optimizing CNC mill operations, and playing a key role in production success. Responsibilities
  • Program all CNC mill machining work centers using Mastercam and manual programming techniques.
  • Create, maintain, and update part routings and manufacturing standards within the ERP system.
  • Set up, operate, and run CNC mill machines; perform machine calibration, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
  • Lead daily production activities within the assigned area, ensuring priorities set by production planners are met.
  • Set up and change over mill machines for machinists to optimize daily machine utilization.
  • Utilize solid models to generate CNC programs, work layouts, setup instructions, and machining strategies.
  • Develop, manage, and update 3D models for CNC machine work envelopes, fixturing, and work holding.
  • Establish standardized CNC programming rules, strategies, and machining techniques, including tooling approach, roughing/finishing sequences, and material removal rates.
  • Manage and maintain standardized electronic setup sheets and work instructions across all CNC equipment, in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ensure data integrity and alignment between part routings, CNC programs, and work instructions.
  • Develop and maintain an electronic tooling database with standardized identification numbers.
  • Evaluate CAM software performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and control CNC program libraries, ensuring the most current and accurate versions are in use.
  • Manage the DNC Predator system, including program uploads, verification, and system updates.
  • Ensure CNC programs are not stored locally on machine controllers and maintain controller consistency, with Supervisor support.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to determine specifications and tooling requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings (feeds, speeds, offsets) as required.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
  • Perform general shop duties as assigned, including mechanical assembly, testing, material handling, deburring, and non‑skilled machining.
  • Support production operations during peak workloads as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive lead experience or equivalent experience in non‑lead roles.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production procedures.
  • Demonstrated accountability for achieving production goals and benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and occupational hazards.
  • Leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving manufacturing environment.
  • Machine shop background strongly preferred.
  • Preferred familiarity with ISO or other quality management standards.
