Warehouse Forklift Operator - 2nd shift Temp-Hire

Duties and Responsibilities Level 1

• Learns and complies with CORE requirements:
  • Key Behaviors / Company Policies
  • GMP / General Safety / PPE
• Learns and complies with area HOUSEKEEPING requirements – during shift and shift hand off
• Executes QUALITY Plan:
  • Properly manage inventory using FEFO rotation process.
  • Identify out of spec packaging materials, pallet tag information, or lot codes on finished goods.
  • Work with Warehouse Manager and Quality team to isolate and hold inventory as appropriate.
• EQUIPMENT OPERATION and ADJUSTMENT:
  • Pass forklift certification test
  • Operate forklift efficiently, prioritizing safety via proper speed, horn usage, and other methods.
  • Safely operate offline stretch wrapper as needed.
  • Clear palletizer and production stretch wrapper jams as needed.
  • Load pallets in 3‑high drive‑in racking and double‑stack pallets correctly.
  • Supply production lines correct materials (film, cardboard, pallets).
  • Learn to change pallet wrapping film.
  • Charge forklift during lunch break and at end of shift.
• DOCUMENTATION:
  • Ensure accurate inventory documentation and production records.
  • Read and understand daily production schedules (RPOs).
• SANITATION:
  Complete at scheduled intervals in warehouse areas and proactively when time is available.
• PERFORMANCE:
  Demonstrate ability to consistently perform duties delivering targeted levels of Safety, Quality, and Production Performance.

Level 2 (requires Level 1 proficiency for all lines)

• Receive inbound shipments and process paperwork correctly.
• Manage de‑palletizers: supply each line with correct bottles, remove dunnage pallets from magazines, keep floor free from broken glass.
• Create partial pallet license plates in B.C. or for combining partials.
• Communicate issues and opportunities with Warehouse, Production, and Quality teams.
• Train new operators to Level 1 capability.
• Engage in performance problem solving.
• Demonstrate consistent performance at Safety, Quality, and Production levels.

Level 3 (requires Level 2 proficiency for all lines)

• Train operators to Level 2–3 capability.
• Learn shipping: print load tickets, use handheld scanners correctly, load trucks with airbags, post shipments, double‑check B.O.L.
• Coordinate trailer loading, communicate with external truck drivers per schedule and priorities, consistently chock trailer tires before loading.
• Resolve scanner or posting load errors.
• Ccover all forklift positions.
• Lead as Operator performing root cause analysis, improving safety, quality, and operating conditions.

Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience

• Previous forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient computer use for receiving, inventory management, and shipping duties.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic tools.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals).
• Comprehend written instructions and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Environment is seasonally hot, humid, wet. Willingness to work off‑shifts.
