Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing merchandise from shopping carts for checkout.
• Help customers load bags into their cars if needed.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and return merchandise to shelves.
• Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, trash, and all store areas inside and outside.
• Handle seasonal merchandise and assist with store layout and product location.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions.
• Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
• Support customers with special needs, including minors and older adults.
• Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Retail experience is a plus but not necessary.
