Job Title: Materials Floor Leader (Supervisor) – Plastics Department
Location: Fraser, MI
Start Time: 6:00 AM
Pay: $55,000–$73,000 (based on experience)
Employment Type: 90-Day Contract-to-Hire
Reports To: Materials Manager
We are seeking a Materials Supervisor to support material handling and inventory control operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on leading material handlers, ensuring smooth material flow to production, and maintaining accurate inventory to support daily manufacturing schedules in the plastics department.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of material handlers
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits
- Monitor material flow and address shortages or excess inventory
- Enforce safety standards and company policies
- Partner with the Materials Manager and cross-functional teams to resolve material issues
- Train and develop team members to improve efficiency and performance
- Utilize ERP systems to track material movement and maintain data accuracy
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to materials and inventory
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in materials supervision, inventory control, or material handling
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred; plastics experience a plus
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- ERP system experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Day shift schedule with an early start time (6:00 AM)
