Cleaning can be carried out from 8am to 10am or 6pm to 8pm Monday to Friday.

• Responsible for cleaning designated areas of the school site, as allocated by the cleaner in charge.
• Use cleaning materials as instructed by the Chargehand.
• Operate cleaning machinery on soft and hard surfaces, e.g. vacuum cleaners and polishers.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters and prevent disclosure of confidential information.
• Vacuum clean hard and soft floors.
• Spot clean spillages.
• Wipe furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors, and polish door glass and windows.
• Empty and clean waste and recycling bins.
• Clean toilets, including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
• Mop and spray clean hard floor surfaces.
• Wipe, polish, and straighten furniture.
• Replenish supplies in toilets and classrooms.
• Check and close windows, switch off lights after work, lock doors when rooms are completed.
• Report misuse or vandalism.
• During holiday periods or annual deep cleans, perform tasks such as stripping and sealing floors, removing chewing gum, high-level dusting, wall washing, and moving furniture for deep cleaning classrooms.
• Undertake additional cleaning duties as directed by the Cleaning Area Supervisor or Soft Services Manager.
• Report defects/hazards immediately to the Head-Cleaner.
• Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies.

• BICSc certification to an appropriate level (preferred but not essential as full training will be given).
• Track record of delivering a similar role.
• Experience in a cleaning environment, preferably multi-site.

• Pro‑active attitude.

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to form relationships with clients and exceed customer expectations.
• Approachable demeanour and a demonstrable commitment to team working.
