To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence.
- Certification by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
- Current CDE Special Services Provider license with endorsement in one of the following:
Speech Therapist, Speech Correction, or Speech/Language Pathologist.
As an SLP, you will develop and implement individualized education and treatment programs for students facing communication challenges due to developmental differences, disabilities, or injuries. Job Details- Part-Time: 2 days/week (15 total hours)
- In-Person Only
- Dates: ASAP through the end of the school year
- Setting: Elementary School
- Manage and organize specialized materials and environments essential to the speech and language program.
- Provide educationally related communication interventions for students with language, speech, or hearing disorders.
- Assess speech and language skills of students suspected of having communication disorders and collaborate with teachers to develop IEP goals.
- Offer resources, modeling strategies, and training to team members in communication interventions.
- Communicate regularly about individual student assessments and progress with school staff and parents.
