Job Description

Roche Bros., Inc. (RBI) is a leading firm in high‑quality hardscape construction. We are seeking an Assistant Foreman to join our team in Frederick and Montgomery County, MD. This full‑time, onsite position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career in a hands‑on construction environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain construction equipment such as skid loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and rollers for retaining walls and hardscaping projects.
  • Perform laborer duties when not operating equipment to assist with project completion.
  • Set accurate elevations using grade laser tools.
  • Read, understand, and lay out work from construction drawings.
  • Execute challenging cuts and complex tasks required during on‑site construction, maintaining high quality and precision.
  • Enforce and uphold stringent safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use the company truck for transportation of materials and other job‑related needs, adhering to traffic and company regulations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational effectiveness of all equipment under supervision.
  • Communicate field issues and potential improvements effectively to supervisors.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of hardscaping experience, especially with retaining walls, patios, walkways, and similar projects.
  • Proven skill and strong proficiency in operating construction equipment.
  • Demonstrable ability to interpret and execute plans and elevations from construction drawings.
  • Highly safety‑conscious with a commitment to maintaining safety practices.
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities and strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for operating company vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate in both Spanish and English is a plus.
