Sound Physicians is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at Frederick Health Hospital. You will practice alongside a close-knit, collaborative care team supported by comprehensive ancillary services and robust local leadership. Here, you can enjoy a flexible schedule while delivering high-acuity care in a dynamic, magnet-status accredited emergency department.
Practice Info
- Join our close-knit team of 15 physicians and 20 APPs at Frederick Health Hospital
- Work alongside a Clinical Performance nurse and comprehensive ancillary services in the ED, including peer recovery, ED pharmacists, crisis intervention, social work, and case management
- Opportunity to teach medical students, APPs, and residents from Shenandoah, Frostburg, and other local programs
- Accountable, on-site leadership with a local medical director
- Ranked as the 3rd busiest ED in Maryland, with 80,000 annual visits and recognition as a State Top Performer in EMS offload time
- Integration with Sound Physicians' hospitalist, observation, pediatric, and critical care teams with a low LWBS rate of less than 3%
- High acuity setting with a 30% admission rate, STEMI Center and Primary Stroke Center designation, and ED MRI for stroke and spinal cord emergencies
- Magnet status accredited with fully staffed nursing
- Equipped with point-of-care ultrasound in the ED, an ED pharmacist, and dedicated ED social work/case management
Compensation
- W2 rates equivalent to $225/hour days; $240/hour nights
Shift & Schedule

- Full-time, part-time, or PRN positions available
Qualifications
- Board certified/eligible in emergency medicine
- New graduates, residents, and fellows are encouraged to apply
