Position Type: Part-time Variable Schedule
Position Summary: This position supports the MOSAIC Center programs and the strategic operation of the Office of Student Affairs. The MOSAIC Center Student Assistant aids the Program Manager of Student Affairs Initiatives in the conceptualization, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluation of the various programs in the MOSAIC Center. This position requires the ability to use various styles, techniques, and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture, background, race, religion, ability, sex, and familial status.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Gather information from the campus community to determine themes for art displays, cultural celebrations, Beyond Strangers, and Courageous Conversations events.
- Assist in planning events, including deciding dates, times, and locations.
- Help create flyers, advertisements, and inform diverse student groups of the event.
- Assist with the logistics on the day of the event.
- Gather and analyse feedback for the event to give recommendations for future events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled FCC student.
- Experience with diverse student and community populations.
- History of seeking to understand differences.
- Prior usage of data, survey results, or best practices to inform decision making.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and think of next steps.
- Experience organizing and implementing events.
- Past experience creating visuals with the intent of informing an audience.
Work Schedule: Up to 20 hours a week during normal business hours, and flexible around class schedules.
