Kids on Campus Summer Facilitator

Position Summary: This position supports the Kids on Campus program, coordinating summer youth classes and activities. The coordinator communicates daily with staff, students, and parents, providing essential communication, assistance, and support for each week‑long summer class. The role requires working effectively with children aged 8–16 in a diverse, multicultural educational setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend orientation before the summer program.
  • Supervise summer facilitators and youth assistants.
  • Supervise students and assume responsibility when necessary.
  • Design programmatic systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Assure instructors receive class packets, supplies, and daily information.
  • Distribute special notices, teacher memos, and classroom supplies.
  • Assist classroom teachers and program staff as requested.
  • Provide instruction for classes when an instructor is absent.
  • Prepare, distribute, and track completion of instructor packets and attendance.
  • Respond to immediate support requests from Kids on Campus instructors.
  • Create, prepare, update, and track student release forms.
  • Communicate with parents, provide notices, and respond to queries.
  • Offer direction and supervision to students and families before and after program times.
  • Receive, respond to, and record incident reports.
  • Collaborate with Plant & Facilities to manage signage and instructional space setup.
  • Ensure all safety measures are adhered to.
  • Supervise required fire and other safety drills.
  • Fill out incident reports and health logs as needed.
  • Provide administrative support as required.

Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Age 18 or older.
  • Associate degree or two years of college experience.
  • Two years of experience working in summer youth programs.

Desired

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience working in the Kids on Campus program.
  • Two years managing summer youth programs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take direction.

Work Schedule: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, variable based on enrollment, not exceeding 35 hours per week.

Additional Requirements: CPS check and fingerprinting.
