Youth Job Coach – Career & Transition Services | Full-Time

RISE Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Youth Job Coach to help students with disabilities explore careers, develop workplace skills, gain real-world experience, and prepare for employment and life after high school.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with teenagers and young adults and wants to help students become more confident, independent, and prepared for their futures.

Depending on the students you support, you may spend your day helping someone create their first resume, practice for a job interview, explore career options, learn workplace expectations, visit a local employer, participate in a work experience, or develop skills needed for greater independence.

A bachelor's degree is not required. Previous Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) experience is not required. Training is provided.

Youth Job Coaches work individually and in small groups with students, generally ages 14–21, who have disabilities, IEPs, Section 504 Plans, or other qualifying support needs.

You will help students:

  • Explore careers that match their interests, strengths, and abilities.
  • Learn how to search and apply for jobs.
  • Create resumes and complete employment applications.
  • Practice interviewing and communicating with employers.
  • Develop teamwork, communication, punctuality, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understand workplace expectations and professional behavior.
  • Build confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Explore college, vocational training, apprenticeships, and other postsecondary options.
  • Participate in workplace tours, informational interviews, job shadowing, and approved work experiences.
  • Prepare for successful work-based learning experiences.
  • Obtain work permits and complete other employment-related steps when needed.
  • Develop practical skills that support successful transitions into adulthood.

This is a full-time position, but it is not a traditional Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule.

Because most students attend school during the day, candidates must have meaningful and dependable availability during:

  • Afternoons
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • School breaks and holidays

Daytime hours may also be scheduled for:

  • School meetings
  • Employer outreach
  • Program coordination
  • Documentation
  • Training
  • Team meetings
  • Career-development activities
  • Other approved responsibilities

The exact weekly schedule will vary based on student availability, authorized services, work experiences, school calendars, and program needs.

Applicants must be able to maintain a dependable and reasonably flexible schedule.

Experience working with teenagers, young adults, individuals with disabilities, or other populations requiring support.

Ability to engage, motivate, teach, and build positive relationships with young people.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good organization and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently in schools, workplaces, and community settings.

Ability to complete electronic documentation accurately and on time.

Significant availability during afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Valid driver's license.

Reliable personal transportation.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.

Acceptable driving record and required automobile insurance.

Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation systems.

Ability to satisfy applicable background-screening and employment requirements.

We welcome applicants from a variety of professional backgrounds.
