Position OverviewAs a Data Center Project Engineer, you will be part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. You will work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our Customers. You will be on the construction site, daily interacting with construction managers and stakeholders, and be directly responsible for supporting the fast, high‑quality delivery of our data center construction.
Key Responsibilities- Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders and dashboard and track this information for regional leadership review.
- Request and review MOPs (Method of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
- Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner‑furnished material to site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage checklist including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
- Manage the owners side RFI, submittal and change management processes related to data center builds.
- Help to ensure monthly Billing and Pay Applications are correct.
- Help to manage and implement new processes as required.
- Help manage the AWS change order process for all inflight activities and work daily with general contractors, superintendents, and Project Engineers to keep the project on schedule.
- Provide daily support to onsite construction managers in dealing with the many moving parts of a construction project.
- 3+ years of vendor management experience.
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in vendor management, data center or critical environment, and data center engineering or operations.
- 3+ years of construction or project management experience.
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License.
- Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.
- Experience in construction or project management.

CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of pay.
