Phlebotomist – Part Time with Benefits – Evening Shift

Frederick Health is seeking a part‑time phlebotomist to work the evening shift. The successful candidate will collect specimens (blood, urine, cultures) in accordance with physician orders, maintain specimen integrity, follow standard operating procedures for patient identification, labeling, processing, and handling, and ensure patient safety while providing excellent customer service.

In the outpatient setting the phlebotomist will also enter patient demographics for registration and order entry, resolve ambiguous or unusual test orders by contacting the appropriate medical or laboratory personnel, and meet CLIA qualifications for moderate‑complexity testing if responsible for bleeding times. A solid understanding of medical terminology is desirable.

• Collect patient specimens (blood, urine, cultures) and maintain specimen integrity.
• Verify patient identity and accurately label, process, and handle specimens.
• Enter patient demographics and test orders into the electronic system.
• Resolve ambiguous or unusual test orders by contacting medical or laboratory personnel.
• Adhere to CLIA regulations and laboratory policies for moderate‑complexity testing.

• High school diploma or GED required; 13‑week phlebotomy course or 3‑month military course preferred.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with site policy.
• Certification from an approved phlebotomy program preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

Pay range: $19.66–$27.77 per hour. Shift differential and overtime may apply for non‑exempt positions. Evening shift: 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m., Monday–Friday with alternate weekends and holidays.
