Position Summary:
The faculty in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program within the Health Professions Career Community work as members of an instructional team of full‑and part‑time colleagues to consistently deliver high‑quality instruction to students.
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Facilitate student mastery of core learning outcomes using relevant, scholarly tools and technology.
- Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high‑quality curriculum.
- Actively engage students to develop critical thinking, meta‑cognitive processes, and communication skills.
- Model and cultivate open‑minded inquiry, an appreciation for diverse perspectives, and creative problem‑solving.
- Provide service to the College and community to support and enhance the College mission.
- Serve on committees and participate in department meetings.
- Maintain currency in academic discipline and pedagogy by actively participating in professional organizations and engaging in other professional development opportunities.
- Appreciate and articulate the value of a strong nursing education program and use that framework to mentor students.
- Uphold and contribute to the achievement of the Frederick Community College Strategic Priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current license as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing.
- Two years of clinical experience.
- Higher level degrees – BS or MS if Physical Therapist Assistant, MS or Doctoral degree if Physical Therapist.
- Evidence of membership in professional academic associations.
- Teaching experience in PT and/or PTA academic programs.
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
