The Biocurator is responsible for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and accessibility of biological data across systems supporting R&D of medical countermeasures and diagnostic platforms. Manages biological data and metadata by curating, annotating, and organizing experimental results from research studies involving diagnostics and countermeasure evaluation.

• Curate experimental data and maintain relational databases.
• Annotate datasets with controlled vocabularies and metadata standards.
• Collaborate with researchers and IT staff to ensure data consistency.
• Document curation processes and develop SOPs.
• Conduct quality checks and resolve data integrity issues.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of bioinformatics tools and metadata schemas.
• Attention to detail and data normalization standards.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, data science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4+ years in laboratory or bioinformatics data curation.
• Experience with biological databases and LIMS.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
• Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
• Master's degree preferred.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 annually.
