Government Contracting Subject Matter Expert

Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and we are looking for a highly motivated Federal Government Contracting Subject Matter Expert to join our team supporting our Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) client. The mission of VAAA is to develop and deliver customer-focused training and professional development solutions that equip the Federal workforce to deliver acquisition excellence in service to the Veteran.

This role is primarily remote and requires periodic on‑site presence in Frederick, MD, up to quarterly, to support audits and business needs.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert conducting research to support courseware development on acquisition topics and provide audit support services for courses developed and delivered by other contractors.
• Assist with presentations and adult learning environment software.
• Document in‑person (as needed) and distance learning courses, on a government provided audit form, the technical accuracy of material presented in the courses, an evaluation of each instructor’s understanding of course material, identify elements of the training requiring correction/supplementation, and provide appropriate corrective actions to those elements.
• Provide acquisition subject matter expertise and recommendations to instructional design teams, attend internal pilots and dry runs and provide constructive feedback.
• Draft, review, and submit the final course audit reports to the COR.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Must have FAC‑C/DAWIA Contracting Level III Certification
• Possess 10+ years, served as an 1102 on multiple types of federal acquisition (GS‑14 and above)
• 3+ years VA experience preferred
• Must be located within an hour radius of Frederick, Maryland
• Ability to audit approximately 8‑10 courses on site at VAAAA annually
