Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring an MD or compact license and a minimum of 3 years of RN experience.

• Active MD or compact RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CMSRN and PCCN certifications preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Proof of residency must match candidate's licensure

• Work in the 4G/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry unit providing cardiac monitoring and higher-level observation care
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with CHF, NSTEMI, pre-cardiac catheterization needs, stroke, pulmonary disorders, diabetes, multi-system disease, and post-surgical conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 for PCU beds and typically 1:5 (up to 1:6) for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Float within scope as needed
• Block scheduling not available
• MEDITECH charting system experience preferred
• Provide cardiac monitoring and higher-level observation care beyond Medical-Surgical unit standards
• Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
• Smoke-free facility
• Pre-start online training modules required, averaging 4-5 hours, to be completed no later than one week prior to start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
