Job DescriptionResponsible for the preventative maintenance, installation, repair, modification, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical services, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform industrial electrical work on incineration, fluorescent and germicidal fixtures, generating equipment and controls, scientific equipment, solid state electronic sensing controls, and solid‑state motor controls.
- Work on equipment carrying up to 600 VAC.
- Assist with the Electrical Preventative Maintenance for the site.
- Visit worksites to develop work plans, determine time requirements, and identify power sources, branch circuits, outlets, and additional electrical fixtures.
- Install lines, outlet boxes, fuse panels, and related electrical equipment.
- Maintain and repair electrical laboratory and technical equipment.
- Work beyond normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Participate in a rotational on‑call schedule for emergency calls.
- Perform other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma (foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency).
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Position is safety‑sensitive; subject to random drug testing per the Leidos Biomedical Research Drug Free Workplace Program.
- Valid State Driver's License issued by the state of residence with no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous twelve (12) months or five (5) points in the preceding thirty‑six (36) months.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Maryland State Journeyman license.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of electrical components of scientific/laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Codes, National Electrical Safety Codes, basic principles and theories of electricity, and safety practices in the electrical trade.
- Experience with voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, and other multi‑amp testing equipment.
- Experience replacing bearings, brushes, rings, contacts, and armatures of electric motors up to 400 horsepower.
- Potential exposure to animals or animal material.
- Potential exposure to atmospheric conditions requiring respirator use and a medical clearance.

Payand Benefits
Pay range: $59,600.00 – $87,633.00 USD (full‑time). Compensation is based on responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data. Benefits include competitive compensation, Health and Wellness programs, Income Protection, Paid Leave and Retirement.
