The RoleWe're looking for a Civil Designer / AutoCAD Drafter to turn engineering designs into clean, accurate construction documents. You'll work directly with our licensed engineers on real, local projects: site plans, grading and drainage plans, utility layouts, subdivision plats, and roadway designs.
What You'll Do- Produce and revise civil construction drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare grading, drainage, utility, and site development plans from engineer redlines
- Assist with plats, exhibits, and permit submittal packages
- Work with survey data, aerial imagery, and existing records
- Collaborate day-to-day with engineers and project managers in our Fredericksburg office
- At least 1 year of AutoCAD experience;
Civil 3D experience strongly preferred - Experience drafting civil or site development plans (2+ years preferred, but we'll train the right person with strong AutoCAD fundamentals)
- Understanding of grading, drainage, and utility plan basics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic file management
- Careful, detail-oriented work habits, clear communication, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Associate degree or drafting certificate a plus, not required
- Stable, established firm: 40+ years in the Hill Country
- Variety: commercial, residential development, roadway, and drainage projects. No two weeks alike.
- Small team where your work is visible and valued, with direct access to licensed PEs
- Live and work in Fredericksburg, with no big-city commute
- $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience
