- Education:
Graduate of Accredited School of MRI - Associates of Science or Higher preferred but not required
- Experience:
Four years MRI experience - Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable)
- Preferred:
One year of leadership/supervisory or management experience - Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations
Required:
ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT, Texas Medical Board License, BLS (American Red Cross)

What you will do in this Role- Supervises assigned personnel and is responsible for effectively and efficiently staffing the imaging section(s). Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of equipment: power injectors, Magnetic Resonance Imaging positioning, procedures preparation and technical factors associated with MRI systems
- Maintain clean, stocked inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in section(s). Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care.
- Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum. Organizes work in such a way that the structure responds quickly to changes in workload.
- Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance
- Must be able to complete assignments independently and to work as part of a team; to take instructions from supervisors; to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Additional Job Role s:
- May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- May be called upon to physically witness and/or inventory controlled substances with another authorized individual.
- Will integrate current scientific knowledge and technology into their work practices, play an active role in the orientation and training of new employees and students and participate in continuing education provided to the department during work hours. Yearly, the supervisor will participate in and complete their Job skills/Competency Checklist.
- Demonstrate support, knowledge and skill to provide necessary care to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Must facilitate and participate in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly.
