Job Overview: J is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator (Heavy Civil / Site Development) to join our Office & Admin team. In this full‑time, on‑site position, you will play a critical role in pricing and preparing competitive bids for a wide range of civil construction projects. From earthwork and utility systems to stormwater and E&S measures, this role requires both technical estimating experience and a deep understanding of the civil construction landscape.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects including sitework, utilities, and special structures.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs using CAD software and other estimating tools.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare complete scopes of work.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to obtain up‑to‑date pricing and build estimate assumptions.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
- Review and incorporate erosion & sedimentation (E&S) control measures into project estimates.
- Monitor market trends and update cost databases to maintain accuracy.
- Participate in bid reviews and value engineering discussions.
- Support handoff of awarded projects to operations teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in civil estimating, preferably in heavy highway or site development.
- Strong knowledge of civil scopes including stormwater, water, sewer, and special structures.
- Familiarity with CAD for performing earthwork takeoffs.
- Understanding of E&S measures and related procedures.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Advanced training or certifications are a plus.
