• Conducts evaluations on referred patients.
• Plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care.
• Documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines.
• Participates as a member of a self-directed departmental team as well as an interdisciplinary patient care team.
• Provides clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed.
• Provides training and education to department and hospital staff.

• Licensed (or licensed eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist.

• Completion of licensing requirements for new graduates within 1 year of graduation and maintenance of licensure once granted.
• Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area.

• New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist.

• Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.

• Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.

• Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses.
• Setting schedule and managing time.
• Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds.
• Goal setting for routine diagnoses.
• Completion of routine documentation.
• Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team.
• Customer interaction.

• Provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.

• Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific Manager.
• Schedules, including weekends and holidays, will be required based on the unit's organizational and staffing needs.
• Age specific groups served as appropriate based on unit assignment.

• Physical:
  Lifting 50-100 lbs.;

  frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
• Mental/Sensory:
  Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking.

  Fast-paced environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
