Job Title
Azure Engineer (Sr.) / Azure Architect (Jr.)
Fredericksburg, VA (remote)
Pay From: $140,000 per year
Requirements- Active DoD Secret or Interim Secret clearance
- 10+ years of overall systems and cloud engineering and/or architecture
- 5+ years of engineer and design in an Azure environment
- Experience in maintaining enterprise level Active Directory environment using multiple authentication sources
- Proficiency in current Microsoft server operating systems, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, Internet Information Services (IIS) 8.5 and 10, PKI and other authentication methods, Domain Name Server, and Active Directory
- Expert experience with hands‑on systems planning and migration from on‑prem to the cloud
- Experience in writing complex Power Shell scripts to enable automation
- Experience and understanding of Linux Systems supporting a cloud environments
- Experience and knowledge of NIST and RMF procedures
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Able to explain technical information to non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High attention to details
- Strong problem‑solving skills and highly analytical
- Active Azure Solution Architect Expert Certification
- Current CISSP or CISM certification
- Current ITILv4
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in related field
- Experienced Azure Cloud Engineer/architect will use their knowledge and expertise to lead the design, implementation, and management of our Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS environment
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of Microsoft Server 2019/2022 with Active Directory Federated Services, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and supporting secure cloud‑to‑cloud migrations
- Help to develop enterprise architecture strategies, guide modernization initiatives, ensure security and compliance, and serve as a key technical advisor to both government and program management
- Perform support services directly related to transitioning all or part of mission‑specific applications, Public Facing Web sites, and other client systems and applications to a DoD approved cloud provider
- Manage Windows Server 2019/2022 infrastructure, including configuration, patch management, Active Directory, PKI, and GPO administration
- Implement system modernization strategies including performance tuning, capacity planning, incident response, and disaster recovery Integration of various technologies as tasked by government process through configuration control board and execution of process through test platform
- Maintenance of RMF Continuous Monitoring of assigned servers through submission of STIG checklists and POA&M quarterly Management of SSL website certificates and server certificates on required assets
- Configuration and management of a Development/Test/Staging environment that mimics Production functions
- Supporting migration of cloud‑based environments and handling cloud‑to‑cloud migrations
- Integrate automation and configuration management tools to ensure scalability, security, and reliability
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS environments, including Azure Dev Ops (ADO) pipelines, repos, boards, and artifacts to support CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and release management
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure Linux‑based systems in a multi‑cloud environment (AWS, Azure), leveraging automation and configuration management tools to ensure high availability and reliability
- Guide and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and skill development across the team
- Act as a mentor and coach to junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to help them grow and develop their skills
* Collaborate effectively in a remote cross matrixed team environment
