Job SummaryBingham & Taylor is seeking a dedicated and skilled Extrusion Technician to join our team at the Fredericksburg plant on Jamison Lane. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating extrusion lines in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, quality procedures and operator training to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste. All tasks must be performed within safety, quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up the extrusion process line and troubleshoot machine problems.
- Study drawings or other instructions to determine equipment configuration requirements.
- Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements.
- Review plans or other instructions to determine operating methods or sequences.
- Follow production schedules, collaborating with multifunctional teams to optimize processes.
- Address equipment shutdowns promptly, providing information to team members.
- Operate and monitor extrusion equipment to achieve objective results and consistency.
- Monitor product quality controls and guide necessary adjustments.
- Manage material supply, production flow and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance for the prompt repair of equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to create or improve SOC and SOP.
- Identify process improvements and efficiency improvements.
- Accurately record production data, quality checks, maintenance and downtime incidents.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies and initiatives, including reporting all injuries, accidents and first aid workplace hazards.
- Help identify and eliminate security risks.

- High school diploma or equivalent;
Technical certification or relevant professional training preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience as an Extrusion Operator, with demonstrated competence in extrusion processes. Experience with Davis Standard machinery is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of extrusion equipment, configurations and parameters.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, process monitoring and communication.
This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
